Vaishno Devi Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi, located in the Trikuta Mountains of Jammu & Kashmir. It is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India, attracting over 8 million pilgrims annually.
History
According to Hindu mythology, Vaishno Devi was a young girl who meditated and eventually merged with the Pindies (natural rock formations) in the cave. The shrine was formally established in the 20th century. The cave temple houses three natural rock formations representing Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati.

The goddess is believed to fulfill the wishes of all devotees who make the arduous trek to her shrine. The pilgrimage trek through the Trikuta Mountains is itself considered a spiritual journey.
🚌 How to Reach
Jammu Airport is the nearest airport. Jammu Railway Station is well connected. From Katra base camp, trekkers walk 13km to the shrine. Helicopter service is also available from Katra.

March to July and September to November. Avoid monsoon season due to landslide risk.
